Example Projects / Commercial / Kents Hill Training CentrePDA's Premier Trophy Awards Competition 2006 - national recognition for Kents Hill Training Centre project
Fighting off fierce competition from painting and decorating businesses from around Great Britain, ESK Limited is proud to have been awarded a 'Very Highly Commended' accolade in the 'Commercial' category of the Painting and Decorating Association's 'Premier Trophy Awards Competition 2006'. The award, presented at a special ceremony in June 2006, was for the refurbishment of the Kents Hill Training Centre in Milton Keynes, and is the result of careful consideration of the merits of all the entries received by the awards panel, consisting of senior representatives of the PDA.
The project involved the internal repair and redecoration of the Kents Hill Training Centre, commencing in May 2005 and reaching completion in December 2005, although with ESK's normal dedication to the job, the main contractual works were completed a good two months ahead of schedule in October 2005. All buildings remained open and fully utilised for the duration of the contract. The project involved the redecoration of the leisure centre swimming pool, the hotel complex (some 320 bedrooms in total), the sports complex, the leisure centre itself, three office blocks, the training areas, restaurant and bar, and perhaps the most difficult part of the project, the atrium above the restaurant. As with any project of this size, there were some inevitable problems, such as accessibility, late changes to schedules, etc. These were overcome in the same professional manner that ESK always employs, by cultivating a close working relationship with the Centre's management team in order to find workable solutions and by having a flexible and constructive approach to labour requirements throughout the project. |
